Job Description

SQL Database Administrator – Bilingual

Location: Medellín, Colombia

Experience: 4–5 years

Role Summary

We are seeking a skilled SQL Database Administrator to manage, optimize, and support mission‑critical database environments. This role is adecuado for someone with strong hands‑on experience in SQL Server administration, performance tuning, backup and recovery, and production support. The ideal candidate is bilingual (English and Spanish), detail‑oriented, and comfortable working with cross‑functional teams in a fast‑paced environment.

Key Responsibilities

- Administer, maintain, and monitor SQL Server databases across development, test, and production environments
- Ensure database availability, reliability, security, and performance
- Perform backup, recovery, disaster recovery planning, and database maintenance activities
- Troubleshoot database issues including performance bottlenecks, locking, blocking,



and query optimization
- Implement database security, user access controls, and compliance best practices
- Support database migrations, upgrades, and patching activities
- Collaborate with application, infrastructure, and engineering teams to support business‑critical systems
- Create and maintain documentation for database architecture, processes, and operational procedures

Requirements

- 4–5 years of hands‑on experience as a SQL Database Administrator
- Strong expertise in Microsoft SQL Server administration
- Experience with performance tuning, indexing, query optimization, and troubleshooting
- Knowledge of backup/recovery strategies, high availability, and disaster recovery concepts
- Familiarity with database monitoring and maintenance tools
- Experience with SQL scripting, stored procedures, and database security practices
- Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills

Language Requirement

- Bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish (written and verbal)

Preferred Qualifications

- Experience supporting enterprise or large‑scale production environments
- Exposure to cloud platforms such as Microsoft Azure or AWS is a plus
- Experience working with distributed or global teams
