Remote Paralegal - California Law Experience

Position Overview

As a Paralegal at LawPLA, you will play a pivotal role in supporting our attorneys, our clients, and contributing to the overall success of the firm. Your role will manage and support matters through the entire case life cycle, including conducting legal research, drafting legal documents, maintaining organized case files, and coordinating case progression. This position is primarily focused on the pre‑litigation stage of personal injury cases, including managing client communication, collecting and organizing medical records and bills, drafting demand packages, and supporting attorneys in evaluating settlement opportunities.

Key Responsibilities

- Assist attorneys in preparing, organizing, and managing case files and legal documents, ensuring accuracy, completeness, and easy accessibility of information.
- Maintain accurate data entry and tracking of case milestones, deadlines, and tasks within the firm’s case management systems.
- Communicate proactively with clients, opposing counsel, and vendors—collecting information, providing updates,



and ensuring timely responses in coordination with the Client Service team.
- Conduct legal research on relevant statutes, regulations, and case law, providing analysis to support case strategy, responses, and trial preparation.
- Draft, proofread, and file legal documents—including pleadings, motions, discovery, and correspondence—ensuring accuracy, consistency, and timely e‑filing and service.
- Manage all aspects of discovery, including gathering, reviewing, organizing, and producing documents, as well as preparing responses to discovery requests.
- Assist in trial preparation by organizing exhibits, witness materials, and other trial‑related documents.
- Handle administrative tasks such as scheduling, docketing, maintaining calendars, and coordinating meetings, depositions, and other legal proceedings.
- Uphold the firm’s standards for service, communication, and results throughout every client interaction.
- Perform other related duties as assigned or needed.

Qualifications

- Professional or legal degree for paralegal or lawyer or country equivalent.
- Experience working as a paralegal, case manager or legal assistant for a California‑based law firm, focused on either business/civil litigation or personal injury matters.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with a strong attention to detail.




- Proficiency in office software and applications, including Microsoft Office Suite and the ability to learn new CRM systems.
- Ability to multitask, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines in a fast‑paced remote work environment.
- Professional demeanor, discretion, and the ability to maintain confidentiality.
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a remote team.

Compensation & Benefits

- Pay rate of $10–$12 USD per hour, equivalent to approximately $1,600–$1,920 per month, commensurate with experience and qualifications.
- Opportunities for incentive compensation based on individual and team achievements.
- Vacation and paid time off policy to support work‑life balance after probationary period of 90 days is completed.

Work Arrangement

Working hours from 9 am to 6 pm (PST), accommodating the time zone difference with the US‑based team and clients.
