Core Responsibilities
Key Responsibilities: Process and submit insurance claims accurately and on time. Follow up on open claims, research denials, and resubmit as needed. Manage self-pay billing and patient balances. Maintain comprehensive documentation in the EHR and billing system. Identify denial trends; escalate issues to RCM leadership. Process write-offs and adjustments for uncollectible accounts. Collaborate with Billing Customer Service and clinical teams for account inquiries. Meet defined productivity and accuracy standards.
Requirements
Qualifications: High school diploma or equivalent (required). 2+ years’ experience with medical billing software and EHR systems. Knowledge of medical insurance plans, billing guidelines, and appeals processes.
Excellent attention to detail and strong analytical skills. Clear written and verbal English communication. Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a remote environment. Nice-to-Haves: Familiarity with healthcare EDI transactions and clearinghouses. Experience identifying and reporting process improvements. Previous remote collaboration with U.S.-based teams.
