GRC’s work in Iraq aims to enhance the capacity of stakeholders in Duhok to integrate international law standards and best practices to organise, process and mobilize evidence of international crimes.
We are looking for a Legal Adviser to join our International Team. The Legal Adviser will be responsible for carrying out legal research for project activities; drafting and editing legal outputs and legal accountability materials & tools; and assisting with project management and direction where appropriate.

The Role
- Conduct legal research and jurisprudence reviews.
- Develop legal outputs and incorporate comments and guidance from the Project Lead and other team members.
- Organize and participate in meetings / workshops and other interactions with relevant stakeholders.
- Align with other team members to ensure efficient working streams and timely completion of project deliverables.
- Provide support to local partners, offering guidance to enable them to develop and perform to their full potential.
- Actively participate in team brainstorming sessions on project implementation strategies.
- Assist with administrative activities where requested.
