Position Overview

We are seeking a highly experienced Senior ETL Engineer with AI certifications who is bilingual (Spanish/English) and has advanced, fluent English communication skills to join our Colombia Medellín Office (onsite full-time). This role requires deep expertise in data engineering, scalable ETL architecture, and cloud-based data platforms, along with demonstrated AI/ML certification and hands‑on experience supporting AI-driven initiatives.

The idóneo candidate must be comfortable collaborating directly with U.S.-based teams and stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities

Data Engineering & ETL Development

- Design, develop, and optimize scalable ETL/ELT pipelines.
- Build robust batch and real-time data processing workflows.
- Ensure high data quality, integrity, and performance.
- Troubleshoot and resolve complex production data issues.

AI & Machine Learning Enablement

- Prepare high‑quality datasets for AI/ML model training and deployment.
- Collaborate with Data Scientists to operationalize machine learning models.




- Support MLOps pipelines and automated model deployment processes.
- Implement monitoring and validation for AI‑driven data systems.

Cloud & Big Data Architecture

- Develop cloud‑native data solutions (AWS, Azure, or GCP).
- Work with tools such as Spark, Databricks, Snowflake, Big Query, or similar.
- Design and maintain data lakes, warehouses, and lakehouse architectures.
- Implement security, governance, and compliance best practices.

Performance & Optimization

- Tune SQL queries and optimize large‑scale transformations.
- Improve pipeline efficiency and reduce latency.
- Ensure high availability and reliability of data platforms.

Collaboration & Communication

- Work closely with U.S.-based engineering and AI teams.
- Communicate technical concepts clearly in English.
- Participate in cross‑functional design discussions and architecture reviews.

Requirements

Required Qualifications

- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Data Engineering, or related field.
- 6+ years of hands‑on ETL/Data Engineering experience.
- Strong expertise in:
- Advanced SQL
- Python (required)
- Spark or distributed processing frameworks
- Cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP)
- Experience building data pipelines supporting AI/ML initiatives.
- Experience in production support and performance tuning.

AI Certification Requirements (Preferred)

- Must hold at least one recognized AI certification, such as:
- AWS Certified Machine Learning – Specialty
- Microsoft Azure AI Engineer Associate
- Databricks Machine Learning Certification

Strong Understanding Of

- Machine learning lifecycle
- Feature engineering
- Model deployment
- MLOps practices

Language Requirement (Mandatory)

- Fully bilingual (Spanish & English).
- Advanced/Fluent English required (written and spoken).
- Must be comfortable leading technical discussions in English with U.S.-based stakeholders.
