As a Software Engineer specializing in Kong, you will manage and extend the API gateway infrastructure to ensure secure and efficient communication across distributed services. You will act as a key link between backend services and external consumers, optimizing traffic flow and enforcing robust architectural standards.
What You'll Do
- Design, deploy, and manage production-grade Kong API gateway instances.
- Develop and maintain custom Lua plugins to extend gateway functionality and meet specific business requirements.
- Configure and optimize API routing, load balancing, and rate limiting policies.
- Implement and govern security policies, including authentication and authorization protocols at the edge.
- Collaborate with engineering teams to integrate APIs and ensure seamless connectivity across the ecosystem.
- Monitor gateway performance and troubleshoot complex latency or connectivity issues to maintain high availability.
What We Are Looking For
- 4+ years of experience in Software Engineering, DevOps, or API Management.
- Proven expertise in managing and extending Kong API gateway.
- Proficiency in developing custom Lua plugins to extend gateway functionality.
- Hands-on experience configuring API routing and implementing security policies.
- Advanced proficiency in English.
