As a Senior Scala Engineer, you will design and develop high-performance backend services and data-heavy applications using functional programming principles. You will lead the implementation of resilient distributed systems, ensuring reliability and scalability through your deep understanding of the Scala ecosystem and JVM internals.
What You'll Do
- Design and implement robust, scalable backend services using Scala and functional programming patterns.
- Develop and maintain asynchronous, concurrent systems leveraging the Akka or Play frameworks.
- Optimize application performance through algorithm design, memory management, and JVM tuning.
- Integrate services with relational databases using SQL and type-safe data access libraries.
- Architect clean, testable,
and highly maintainable codebases adhering to functional purity and industry best practices.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define technical standards and mentor junior engineers on the team.
What We Are Looking For
- 4+ years of experience in Software Engineering with a focus on Scala development.
- Proven expertise in building backend services and data-heavy applications using Scala.
- Proficiency with Akka or Play frameworks and functional programming patterns.
- Deep understanding of JVM internals and SQL for database management.
- Experience designing and implementing scalable, high-performance distributed systems.
- Advanced proficiency in English.
