EPAM is a leading global provider of digital platform engineering and development services. We are committed to having a positive impact on our customers, our employees, and our communities. We embrace a dynamic and inclusive culture.
Here you will collaborate with multi-national teams, contribute to a myriad of innovative projects that deliver the most creative and cutting-edge solutions, and have an opportunity to continuously learn and grow. No matter where you are located, you will join a dedicated, creative, and diverse community that will help you discover your fullest potential. We are seeking a seasoned and forward-thinking Lead iOS Software Engineer to spearhead our mobile engineering team.
In this position, you will own the technical strategy, architecture, and progression of our native iOS applications, defining the engineering vision and standards across the entire platform. Operating with a modern development stack built around Swift, you will design elegant, high-performing, and intuitive mobile experiences that delight our customers and scale alongside our business — while guiding and growing a team of skilled iOS engineers. You will serve as the primary technical authority for the iOS domain, collaborating strategically with product managers, product designers (UX/UI), backend leads, and engineering management.
You will steer the team through the entire delivery cycle — from initial concept and technical discovery to a successful release on the Apple App Store — while shaping hiring, mentorship, and long-term platform direction.
Responsibilities Define, architect, and evolve the technical vision for our native iOS applications using Swift, making high-impact decisions that shape the long-term direction of the platform
Establish, champion, and enforce best practices, coding standards, and architectural patterns across the iOS codebase and the broader mobile organization
Lead technical roadmap planning for the iOS platform, balancing product needs, technical debt,
scalability, and innovation
Collaborate closely with product designers to implement responsive, pixel-perfect, and highly interactive user interfaces aligned with Apple's Human Interface Guidelines (HIG), while driving design discussions from a technical feasibility and platform-capability perspective
Design robust integrations with backend services and RESTful or GraphQL APIs, ensuring seamless, dynamic, and resilient user experiences
Set the bar for engineering quality: produce clean, modular, and maintainable code, lead code reviews, and ensure consistency and craftsmanship across the codebase
Define comprehensive testing strategies, including unit and UI tests (using XCTest), to safeguard application stability, and drive continuous performance, memory, and battery optimization initiatives using Instruments
Own the application release lifecycle end-to-end, including build processes, certificate and provisioning management, and submissions via App Store Connect
Lead, mentor, and grow a team of iOS engineers — coaching senior, mid-level, and junior developers, conducting technical interviews, and cultivating a high-performing engineering culture
Partner with cross-functional stakeholders and engineering leadership to influence product roadmaps, drive technical innovation, and align mobile strategy with broader business goals Requirements 5+ years of experience in native iOS application development
1+ years of experience leading teams and technical initiatives on production-grade apps
Expert-level proficiency in Swift and deep mastery of the iOS SDK and Apple developer tools (Xcode, Instruments)
Expertise in modern iOS architectural patterns (e.g., MVVM, MVC, Clean Architecture, Combine, and Swift Concurrency), with a proven ability to define architecture at scale and justify decisions to both technical and non-technical audiences
Skills in SwiftUI (preferred) and UIKit (Auto Layout, Storyboards/XIBs) at a strong hands-on level
Showcase of establishing and owning CI/CD pipelines for iOS (e.g., Fastlane, Xcode Cloud, Bitrise) and managing the full release lifecycle via App Store Connect
Background in Git at an advanced level and leading collaborative workflows across distributed teams
Leadership experience — mentoring engineers, driving technical strategy, and delivering complex initiatives in an Agile/Scrum environment using tools like Jira
Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and leadership skills, with the capability to translate complex technical concepts into clear business value
Experience contributing to hiring, performance reviews, and team growth is a strong plus
