About the Role
We’re looking for a Bilingual Legal Assistant (English/Spanish) to join our U.S. litigation and personal injury team. You’ll help keep our cases on track by managing communications, organizing documents, assisting with filings, and ensuring deadlines are met.
This is a hybrid role – mostly remote with one in-person day per week for coordination and team development.
Key Responsibilities
- Support attorneys, case managers, and paralegals with daily litigation and pre-litigation tasks.
- Draft, review, and format legal documents, correspondence, affidavits, discovery, pleadings, exhibits, and case-related materials.
- Coordinate court filings, service of process, citations, notices, hearings, mediations, and trial-related deadlines.
- Communicate professionally with clients, providers, insurance adjusters, courts, opposing counsel, and third parties in English and Spanish.
- Request, track, review, and organize medical, billing, employment, insurance, and case-related records.
- Maintain accurate notes, tasks, deadlines, and case updates in CasePeer and other firm systems.
- Manage emails, calendars, reminders, and scheduling through Outlook and other firm platforms.
- Handle inbound and outbound client communications through RingCentral and document all activity appropriately.
- Assist with discovery, document collection, record summaries, demand preparation, reductions, and settlement-related tasks as assigned.
- Monitor case progress and follow up on outstanding items to ensure matters continue moving forward.
- Keep electronic files organized, updated,
and labeled consistently for easy access by the legal team.
- Perform administrative and operational tasks as needed to support the Civil and Personal Injury departments.
Requirements
- Fluent English and Spanish (C1 level or higher)
- Strong writing and communication skills in both languages
- Excellent organization and attention to detail
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines
- Proficient with CasePeer, Outlook, and RingCentral (or similar legal and communication platforms)
- Professional work ethic and ability to follow procedures accurately
- Own computer/laptop with reliable internet connection
- Availability to work Monday to Friday, 9 AM–5 PM Dallas time (with seasonal adjustment)
- Attendance at one in-person day per week
Preferred Qualifications
- Prior experience with U.S. civil litigation or personal injury law
- Familiarity with e-filing, service coordination, discovery management, and exhibits
- Experience using a case management system (CasePeer preferred)
Compensation & Benefits
- Direct company contract
- Monthly compensation: USD $1,350
- Monthly performance bonus of up to USD $100 based on results, productivity, and consistency
- Hybrid work model in Medellín (remote work with one onsite day per week)
