IBMi Engineer at BairesDev
As an IBMi Engineer, you will maintain and evolve critical business systems built on IBM Power hardware. You will ensure the stability and efficiency of these legacy and modern environments, providing the technical foundation necessary for high-stakes enterprise operations.
What You'll Do
- Administer and optimize IBM Power Systems environments using HMC and PowerVM virtualization.
- Oversee system availability and data protection through the implementation of PowerHA and backup recovery strategies.
- Develop and modernize enterprise applications using RPG and Control Language (CL) to meet evolving business needs.
- Manage system security and performance monitoring using Fortra toolsets and native IBMi utilities.
- Execute system upgrades, patches,
and firmware management to ensure infrastructure remains current and secure.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate IBMi workloads with modern cloud and hybrid architectures.
What We Are Looking For
- 4+ years of experience in IBMi (AS/400) systems engineering or administration.
- Proven expertise in IBM Power Systems administration, including HMC and PowerVM.
- Proficiency in developing and maintaining applications using RPG and CL programming.
- Hands-on experience with IBMi high availability and backup solutions such as PowerHA and Fortra toolsets.
- Advanced proficiency in English.
