About the role Zigabyte is seeking a dedicated System Integration Engineer to join our dynamic team in Columbia, Maryland. As a System Integration Engineer, you will play a critical role in the development and implementation of innovative solutions that meet our clients' needs while adhering to industry standards and best practices.

- Visa: Sponsorship available for qualified candidates What you'll do - Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define system integration requirements and specifications, ensuring alignment with project goals and timelines.
- Design and implement integration solutions that connect disparate systems, applications, and databases, facilitating efficient data flow and communication.
- Conduct thorough testing and validation of integrated systems to identify and resolve any issues, ensuring optimal performance and reliability.
- Develop and maintain comprehensive documentation of integration processes, including architecture diagrams, workflows, and user guides.
- Provide technical support and troubleshooting for integrated systems, working closely with clients and internal teams to address any challenges that arise.
- Monitor system performance and conduct regular assessments to identify areas for improvement and optimization.
- Participate in project planning and management activities, contributing to timelines, resource allocation, and risk assessment.




- Stay current with industry trends and advancements in system integration technologies, recommending innovative solutions to enhance our offerings.
- Train and mentor junior engineers and team members on best practices for system integration, fostering a culture of continuous learning and improvement.
- Collaborate with vendors and third-party service providers to ensure compatibility and successful integration of external systems.
- Assist in the development of integration strategies that align with the overall business objectives and technology roadmap.
- Engage in regular communication with stakeholders to provide updates on integration progress and address any concerns or feedback.

Requirements - Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.

- A minimum of 3 years of experience in system integration, software development, or a related discipline.
- Proficiency in integration tools and technologies, such as API management, middleware, and ETL processes.
- Strong understanding of software development methodologies, including Agile and DevOps practices.
- Experience with programming languages such as Java, Python, or C#, and familiarity with scripting languages like Bash or PowerShell.
- Knowledge of database management systems (DBMS) and data modeling concepts, including SQL and NoSQL databases.




- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to think critically under pressure.
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to convey technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
- Proven ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment and manage multiple projects simultaneously. Nice to have - Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud, particularly in relation to system integration.
- Familiarity with containerization technologies like Docker and orchestration tools such as Kubernetes.
- Knowledge of cybersecurity principles and practices, particularly as they relate to system integration and data protection.
- Previous experience in a client-facing role, with the ability to build strong relationships with stakeholders.
- Certifications in relevant technologies or methodologies, such as AWS Certified Solutions Architect or Certified ScrumMaster (CSM).

Skills & tools - Integration tools: MuleSoft, Apache Camel, or similar platforms.

- Development tools: Git, Jenkins, or similar CI/CD tools.
- Project management software: Jira, Trello, or similar tools.
- Monitoring and logging tools: Splunk, ELK Stack, or similar solutions. Practical notes - This position is based in Columbia, Maryland, and may require occasional travel to client sites or other company locations.
