Responsibilities

- Develop and review the structural design of the project’s works (buildings, bridges, foundations, tanks, and other structures), in accordance with the plans and technical specifications.

- Prepare structural calculations and design reports, ensuring compliance with the applicable construction standards and codes in Panama.

- Review and validate structural drawings prepared by the design team, verifying their proper interpretation and implementation in the field.

- Provide technical support to construction teams in resolving queries related to structural design.

- Supervise the proper execution of foundation and structural works, verifying compliance with the approved designs.

- Assess and propose solutions to unforeseen circumstances or modifications required during the construction phase related to structural aspects.

- Participate in the preparation of As-Built drawings concerning the structural elements of the project.

- Comply with all applicable health, safety, occupational health, and environmental regulations and requirements related to the project.

- Prepare and keep up to date the reports and records corresponding to the area of responsibility.

- Participate in project coordination and progress meetings.

- Perform any other duties inherent to the position as assigned by the immediate supervisor.

Requirements

- Academic background and university degree in Civil Engineering,



with a Master’s Degree in Structural Engineering.

- Minimum of 5 years of experience as a Structural Engineer, as well as at least 2 years of specific experience in the design and/or construction of foundations for structures such as buildings, bridges, dams, and hydroelectric power plants.

- Certification or professional license issued by the Technical Board of Engineering and Architecture of Panama (Junta Técnica de Ingeniería y Arquitectura de Panamá) is required.

- This position requires full-time dedication for the entire duration of the Project. The successful candidate must reside in Panama.

- Availability to work in La Chorrera, Panama Oeste, including fieldwork.
