Software Engineer (Search) at BairesDev
As a Software Engineer specializing in Search, you will design and implement high-performance search systems that deliver precise and relevant results. You will act as the technical lead for search architecture, ensuring that data retrieval is both efficient and aligned with complex business logic.
What You'll Do
- Architect and maintain scalable search infrastructure using technologies like Elasticsearch, OpenSearch, or Solr.
- Refine relevance scoring models and BM25 configurations to improve the quality of user search results.
- Develop sophisticated indexing strategies and query DSL patterns to handle large-scale unstructured datasets.
- Implement hybrid search solutions that combine traditional keyword matching with modern semantic retrieval.
- Optimize query performance and system latency to ensure a frictionless search experience for end-users.
- Collaborate with product teams to translate user intent into effective search filters and discovery features.
What We Are Looking For
- 4+ years of experience in Software Engineering with a focus on search systems.
- Proven expertise in implementing and optimizing Elasticsearch, OpenSearch, or Solr.
- Deep understanding of Lucene internals, relevance scoring (BM25), and indexing strategies.
- Hands-on experience with query DSL and query optimization for hybrid search.
- Advanced proficiency in English.
