Senior Performance Engineer at BairesDev
As a Senior Performance Engineer, you will lead the efforts to optimize low-level systems and ensure our infrastructure operates at peak efficiency. You will act as the vital link between hardware capabilities and software execution, fine-tuning the Linux kernel and subsystems to support massive-scale operations.
What You'll Do
- Conduct deep-dive analysis of CPU, memory, and I/O subsystems to identify and eliminate root causes of latency.
- Design and execute comprehensive performance characterization plans for high-traffic distributed systems.
- Develop custom observability tools using eBPF to monitor system health and performance in real-time.
- Optimize kernel parameters and process scheduling to maximize hardware utilization and throughput.
- Collaborate with engineering teams to provide architectural recommendations based on detailed profiling data.
- Automate the validation of performance regressions within the deployment pipeline to ensure consistent system reliability.
What We Are Looking For
- 4+ years of experience in Performance Engineering, Systems Engineering, or low-level Linux development.
- Proven expertise in Linux kernel tuning and deep understanding of kernel internals, including I/O subsystems and memory management.
- Proficiency in systems programming with C/C++ and working with eBPF for observability and performance monitoring.
- Hands-on experience with CPU profiling and analysis tools such as perf, Nsight, or VTune.
- Strong background in identifying and resolving performance bottlenecks at scale across CPU, memory, and I/O resources.
- Advanced proficiency in English.
