About Parallel

At Parallel, we believe work is more than just a job—it shapes identity, purpose, and possibility. Our mission is to help people discover their life’s work while enabling organizations to build exceptional teams. We’re creating the next generation of hiring infrastructure, combining AI with thoughtful product design to help people and companies find their best match.

We’re looking for an Operations & Project Management Lead to join us on a client engagement, owning the execution of a high-impact software project from planning through delivery. This role sits at the center of engineering, product, design, and client operations, ensuring projects are delivered on time, at a high quality bar, and with clear communication across all stakeholders.

This engagement is expected to continue for the duration of the client project. High-performing team members will also be considered for future client engagements and full-time opportunities within Parallel as we continue to grow.

Role Overview The Operations & Project Management Lead is responsible for driving the end-to-end lifecycle of product initiatives—from planning and scoping through development, QA, launch, and post-release improvements. You’ll coordinate cross-functional teams, remove execution bottlenecks, establish operational processes, and ensure every release is delivered with excellence.

This role is idóneo for someone who thrives on organization, execution, and continuous improvement while working closely with technical teams in a fast-moving startup environment.

Responsibilities

- Create and maintain project plans, timelines, priorities, dependencies, and delivery milestones across multiple concurrent initiatives.
- Coordinate engineering, product, design, operations, and client stakeholders to ensure projects remain on schedule and aligned.
- Lead sprint planning, backlog refinement, release planning, standups, retrospectives, and cross-functional project reviews.
- Identify project risks early, proactively remove blockers, and drive timely decision-making.
- Build repeatable operational processes that improve execution speed, predictability, and team efficiency.
- Own release management, including deployment readiness, QA coordination, user acceptance testing, and launch checklists.
- Monitor project health through metrics, reporting, and regular stakeholder updates.
- Translate client feedback, operational insights, and product issues into actionable work items for engineering.
- Continuously improve project management frameworks, documentation, and delivery processes throughout the engagement.

Requirements

- 3+ years of experience in technical project management, program management, product operations, or a similar execution-focused role.

- Demonstrated success managing complex cross-functional software projects from concept through production release.
- Strong understanding of Agile software development methodologies and modern product development workflows.
- Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple high-priority initiatives simultaneously.
- Experience coordinating engineering, design, product, QA, operations, and client stakeholders.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to keep stakeholders informed and aligned.
- Comfortable working with project management and collaboration tools such as Linear, Jira, Notion, Asana, ClickUp, or similar platforms.
- Data-driven mindset with the ability to prioritize work using business impact, customer value, and engineering effort.
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced startup environment with evolving priorities.

Nice to Have

- Experience leading software releases for SaaS or AI products.
- Familiarity with QA processes and release management.
- Experience working directly with clients in a consulting or agency environment.
- Technical background or experience working closely with engineering teams.

Engagement & Benefits

- Contract engagement for the duration of an active client project.
- Opportunity to work directly with innovative startups and technology companies on meaningful products.
