Role Description The Electrical Design Engineer is responsible for designing, developing, and documenting electrical systems and controls for industrial equipment and automation projects. This on-site role, based in Medellín, includes creating electrical schematics, panel layouts, and wiring diagrams, selecting appropriate components, and ensuring designs comply with relevant standards and safety requirements.

Day-to-day activities involve collaborating with mechanical and software engineers, supporting system integration, conducting testing and troubleshooting,



and preparing technical documentation for manufacturing and installation. The engineer will also provide support during commissioning and field service activities, assist in continuous improvement of existing systems, and contribute to project planning and timelines.

Qualifications

- Strong skills in electrical system design, including schematics, panel layouts, and wiring diagrams.
- Experience with industrial automation and controls (PLC-based systems, sensors, actuators, VFDs, and control panels).
- Knowledge of relevant electrical standards and safety regulations applicable to industrial equipment.
- Proficiency with CAD tools for electrical design (e.g., AutoCAD Electrical, EPLAN, or similar software).
- Ability to collaborate with multidisciplinary teams (mechanical, software, and field service engineers) and support field commissioning.
- Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills in industrial environments.
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a closely related field, or equivalent practical experience.
- Prior experience in polymer extrusion, mixing systems, or related industrial processes is a plus.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills in a professional, multicultural setting.
- Willingness to work on-site in Medellín and occasionally support field service activities as needed.
