Company Description The Fiscalía General de la Nación is the national institution responsible for exercising criminal prosecution and contributing to the design of the State’s criminal policy. It safeguards the effective judicial protection of the rights of all participants in criminal proceedings, building public trust and legal certainty through the search for truth, justice, and reparation.
Established in 1991 with the promulgation of the new Political Constitution, it is part of the judicial branch of public power. Its mission is focused on providing citizens with a prompt, effective, and impartial administration of justice, aligned with constitutional principles and human rights standards.
Role Description The Asistente de Fiscal I is a full-time, on-site role based in Bogota, D.C., supporting prosecutorial work and criminal investigation processes. This position assists assigned prosecutors in organizing case files, preparing basic drafts of procedural documents, and compiling evidence-related information in accordance with established legal protocols.
The role involves managing and updating case records, coordinating appointments, hearings, and communications with parties involved in the proceedings, and ensuring timely submission of documentation.
The Asistente de Fiscal I also supports information gathering, verifies the accuracy of data from different institutional systems, and collaborates with multidisciplinary teams to facilitate efficient case progress.
Qualifications
- Strong legal support skills, including document preparation, case file organization, and familiarity with criminal procedure.
- Competence in information management, including data entry, record keeping, and use of digital case management tools.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills for interaction with prosecutors, other institutional staff, and participants in legal proceedings.
- High level of integrity, discretion, and commitment to confidentiality and ethical public service.
- Detail-oriented, with the ability to follow instructions, meet deadlines, and work accurately under pressure.
- Ability to work collaboratively in multidisciplinary teams and adapt to established institutional protocols.
- Relevant academic background in law, criminal justice, or related fields; prior experience in judicial or public-sector roles is an asset.
- Proficiency in Spanish (native or equivalent) and basic command of legal terminology; additional language skills are a plus.
