Role Summary
The SAP CPI Consultant is responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining integrations between SAP and non-SAP systems using SAP Cloud Platform Integration (CPI) as part of the SAP Integration Suite. The role ensures secure, scalable, and reliable data exchange across cloud and on-premises landscapes.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and deploy integration flows (iFlows) using SAP CPI
- Integrate SAP solutions such as S/4HANA, ECC, AWS, Snowflake, Concur, and third-party applications
- Develop integrations using SOAP, REST, OData, IDoc, RFC, SFTP, JMS, and file-based adapters
- Implement message mappings, content modifiers, value mappings, and exception handling
- Manage security artifacts including certificates, keystores, OAuth, PGP, and user roles
- Perform monitoring, troubleshooting, and tuning of integration flows
- Apply SAP integration best practices and enterprise integration patterns
- Work with functional and technical teams to gather requirements and translate them into integration designs
- Create and maintain technical documentation (integration specs, mappings, interface catalogs)
- Support deployments across DEV / QA / PROD landscapes
Required Skills & Experience
*Technical Skills*
- Strong hands-on experience with SAP CPI / SAP Integration Suite
- Proficiency in Groovy scripting for CPI extensions
- Patterns like Sync/Async, Pub/Sub, Batch vs Real Time, Splitter, Multicast
- Experience with XML, JSON, XSD, and message transformations
- Solid understanding of SAP middleware concepts and integration architecture
- Expertise in SAP API Management
- Knowledge of API-led integration and event-driven patterns
- Experience connecting cloud-to-cloud, cloud-to-on-prem, and hybrid landscapes
- Cloud Connector

- Understanding of SAP business objects (e.g., IDocs, BAPIs)
- Exposure to SAP Process Orchestration (PI/PO)
