We are looking for an experienced Senior Performance Engineer to join an Asset Management team responsible for overseeing a growing portfolio of distributed generation projects across the United States.

In this role, you will analyze operational and telemetry data, evaluate photovoltaic plant performance, develop predictive models, identify potential equipment failures, and recommend corrective actions to improve energy production and operational efficiency.

Key responsibilities:

• Collect, clean, and analyze large datasets, including SCADA and DAS telemetry, related to solar power plant performance.

• Develop predictive models and algorithms to forecast plant performance and identify underperforming PV systems, component failures, equipment issues, and modeling discrepancies.

• Perform photovoltaic performance modeling using tools such as PVsyst, pvlib-python, NREL SAM, or similar platforms.

• Calculate and evaluate plant and equipment losses, including soiling, tracker losses, temperature derating, clipping, inverter efficiency, and DC/AC wiring losses.





• Calculate and monitor key performance indicators such as plant, inverter, and tracker availability, Performance Ratio (PR), and Energy Performance Index (EPI).

• Collaborate with data scientists and software engineers to automate internal and external reporting, data-processing workflows, and performance analysis.

• Partner with Engineering, Operations and Maintenance, Project Management, Software, and business stakeholders to develop data-driven solutions.

• Present technical findings and recommendations clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Required qualifications:

• 5+ years of combined experience in performance engineering, photovoltaic resource modeling, renewable energy, and data analytics.

• Strong experience in solar PV system performance analysis, modeling, and simulation.

• Hands-on experience with PVsyst and preferably pvlib-python, NREL SAM, or similar tools.
