SCOPE
The Senior Data Analyst performs advanced analytical work in the areas of employee benefits, workers’ compensation, risk management, and municipal reporting. This position develops and maintains complex data models, dashboards, and forecasting tools to support strategic decision‑making by Human Resources, Finance, Safety, and elected officials. The role is responsible for ensuring data accuracy, conducting root cause and risk analyses, and developing data‑driven safety programs that reduce organizational liability and improve county efficiency.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND ILLUSTRATIVE TASKS
Essential duties and responsibilities may include, but are not limited to, the following:
Collects, validates, and integrates complex datasets.
Designs advanced dashboards, scorecards, and automated reporting tools for internal leadership and elected officials.
Conducts detailed analysis of financial and budgetary compliance.
Analyzes workers compensation trends and analyzes proposed rate structures.
Compares current emergency service billing rates with industry trends.
Conducts risk management analysis on incidents and claims; identifies trends and exposure areas.
Collaborates with the Safety division to design and evaluate data-driven safety programs aimed at reducing injuries and improving regulatory compliance.
