Overview:
We are seeking an experienced Senior Power Cable Technician to join our Power Operations Organization. Power Operation Organization delivers electrical energy to customers in the safest, most reliable and economical manner through a competent workforce committed to excellence and customer satisfaction. Your primary role is to perform underground power cable installations and repairs including, fault location, cable location, testing, maintenance, and commissioning for power cables rated 2.4KV-115KV in the field. You will also provide directions to junior underground power cable unit personnel.

Key Responsibilities:
As the successful candidate, you will be required to perform the following:




Supervise and perform high potential cable testing to 230 KV, perform megger tests to determine faulted phases and assist phasing of energized conductors to 35 KV.
Install, repair and maintain all HV transmission/distribution cables (solid dielectric, PILCA, LPOF, submarine) and conducts required testing to meet standards.
Locate cable or equipment faults and operating irregularities by making the necessary diagnostical tests, measurements, analysis and determine nature of repairs or modifications to be made, and replacement parts required.
Track discrepancies, maintain a technical library, and continuously audit equipment—recording cable routes, IDs, specs, conditions, test results, past failures and needed fixes.
Acquire clearances, perform switching, receive work permits and restore equipment to service; when such activities are required to perform work in a timely manner.
