We are seeking an experienced Virtual Medical Receptionist / Patient Coordinator to support a busy Optometry practice. This role is ideal for someone with prior experience in an eye care setting who understands the day-to-day workflow of an optometry office, including patient scheduling, routine eye exams, specialty appointments, optical services, and delivering exceptional patient care.
As the first point of contact for patients, you will be responsible for managing a high volume of inbound calls, scheduling appointments, answering patient inquiries, and ensuring every interaction reflects the professionalism and high standards of the practice.
Because this is a phone-intensive role, candidates must have excellent English communication skills, clear pronunciation, and little to no noticeable accent. Patients should feel as though they are speaking directly with someone in the office.

Responsibilities
Answer high-volume inbound patient calls and provide exceptional customer service.
Schedule, confirm, reschedule, and cancel patient appointments.
Respond to patient inquiries regarding appointments, services, insurance, and office policies.
Make outbound calls for appointment confirmations, recalls, follow-ups, and missed appointments.
Manage provider schedules to maximize efficiency and minimize scheduling gaps.
Update patient demographics, insurance information, and document communications in the EMR.
Route messages accurately to providers and office staff.
Support daily front office operations while maintaining accurate patient records.
