Senior Backend Engineer (Java/Go)

Plan A Technologies is seeking a pragmatic, high-level Senior Backend Engineer to join our core engineering team. You will be instrumental in evolving our platform from legacy infrastructure to a modern, cloud-native ecosystem.

Please note: you must have at least 5+ years of experience with Golang and/or Java to be considered for this role.

Job Responsibilities
- Modernize infrastructure: lead migration of manually provisioned AWS resources to Terraform (IaC) and bring out-of-band persistence constructs into managed codebases.
- System architecture: design and maintain high-throughput, event-driven systems using Kafka, gRPC, and Thrift API design.
- Standardize knowledge: solve documentation fragmentation by establishing a unified, "docs-as-code" standard across repositories and Confluence.

Experience
- BS in Computer Science, Software Engineering or equivalent practical experience.
- 5+ years of professional experience as a Senior Backend engineer.




- Expert-level proficiency in either Go or Java.
- API Design: proven experience with gRPC and Thrift for high-performance service communication.
- Previous experience with Postgres.
- Nice to have: Kafka.
- Strong hands‑on experience with Terraform for infrastructure migration and management.
- Excellent verbal and written English communication skills.
- Excellent organizational, problem‑solving, and analytical abilities.
- Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills.
- Initiative and drive to do great things.
