Purpose
Leads and oversees Subsidiary Accounting in Canada from Finance Services Unit ensuring business strategies, plans, and initiatives are executed and delivered in compliance with governing regulations, internal policies, and procedures. As part of the management team, the Accounting Supervisor handles his/her team in resolving conflicts, delegating and organizing tasks, and motivating and leading teams during project developments. Other tasks include monitoring financial position, taxation, financial performance and cash flows of the subsidiaries; reviewing discrepancies of reports and ensuring the reasonableness of accounting information under the scope of the Accounting Team in Bogotá.
Accountabilities
- Leads and drives a customer‑focused culture throughout the team to deepen client relationships and leverage broader bank relationships, systems, and knowledge.
- Performs financial analysis and reporting to management as needed.
- Conducts accounts analysis – performs analysis over Balance Sheet and P&L; accounts.
- Performs monthly, quarterly and annual closing,
journal entries, reconciliation processes, and the corresponding variance analysis.
- Coordinates with the Finance Team to complete assigned accounting tasks within deadlines.
- Generates financial reports and statements for manager review.
- Analyzes financial discrepancies and recommends effective resolutions.
- Responds to accounting inquiries from audit in a timely fashion.
- Provides guidance to other accountants when needed.
- Assists in auditing activities by providing necessary information and preparing requested documentation.
- Monitors and records financial transactions according to company policies and regulations.
- Reviews and recommends changes or improvements to existing accounting procedures.
- Attends meetings to organize procedures and respond to HDQ’s requests.
