About the Role
Jarvis Cutting Tools, a 125-year-old, family-owned, U.S.-based manufacturing company, is seeking a highly skilled and fluent English-speaking Staff Accountant to join our finance team remotely. This full-time subcontractor position is open to candidates located in Latin America. You will report directly to the Accounting Manager, playing a critical role in supporting financial operations and ensuring accuracy and compliance across accounting functions.

- Support month-end financial close, including journal entry preparation and balance sheet account reconciliations
- Reconcile and analyze key general ledger accounts
- Manage all aspects of accounts payable, including invoice verification, payment scheduling and vendor communication
- Maintain and improve internal controls by following policies and suggesting efficiencies
- Assist with preparation for annual audits (financial statements, retirement plans, workers’ compensation)
- Track and maintain fixed asset ledger and record related transactions
- Engage in continuous improvement activities using systemic thinking and root cause analysis
- Perform other duties as assigned
Required Skills
- Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
- Accounting experience – preferably in a US-manufacturing company
- Fluent in English (spoken and written)
- Strong understanding of GAAP or IFRS
- Proficiency in MRP/ERP software
- Advanced Excel skills and strong attention to detail
- Ability to work remotely, with occasional travel to headquarters
- Reliable internet connection

Bonus Qualifications
- CPA, CMA, or equivalent certification
- Experience in manufacturing or industrial sectors
