Role Description This full-time remote Assistant Controller role supports the finance and accounting function for Slate Brands’ portfolio of beauty businesses.

The Assistant

Controller will assist with monthly close activities, including preparing journal entries, reconciliations, and financial reports. The role will help maintain the general ledger, monitor accounts payable and accounts receivable, and support cash flow tracking.

Controller will contribute to budgeting and forecasting processes, assist with variance analysis, and prepare management reports. The role will also support compliance with accounting standards,



coordinate documentation for audits and tax filings, and help improve financial controls and accounting procedures across brands.

Qualifications

- Strong knowledge of general accounting principles, including GAAP, and experience with month-end close and financial reporting
- Proficiency with accounting software and ERP systems, as well as advanced skills in Excel or similar spreadsheet tools
- Ability to analyze financial data, perform reconciliations, and prepare clear, accurate reports for stakeholders
- Experience supporting budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis in a fast-paced, growth-oriented environment
- Detail-oriented mindset, with strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple deadlines while working remotely
- Effective written and verbal communication skills and the ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; CPA or progress toward certification is a plus
- Prior experience in consumer goods, beauty, or brand-focused organizations is beneficial
