Job Description:
Website Designer - WordPress, Webflow, Figma & UX/UI
Full-Time | Remote | U.S. Business Hours
About the Role
At Pavago, one of our clients is hiring a Website Designer to design and build modern, responsive, and conversion-focused websites.
This is a hands-on role combining UX/UI design with CMS implementation. You'll take projects from wireframes and high-fidelity designs through live website builds while ensuring strong performance, SEO, accessibility, and mobile responsiveness.
We're looking for someone who can create websites that look great, perform well, and support real business goals.
What You'll Own
Website & UX/UI Design
- Create wireframes, mockups, and high-fidelity designs using Figma, Adobe XD, or Sketch
- Design responsive websites and landing pages
- Translate brand and business goals into intuitive user experiences
- Design with engagement and conversion in mind
CMS Development
- Build and maintain websites using WordPress, Webflow, Squarespace, or Shopify
- Customize themes and layouts with HTML and CSS
- Use light JavaScript where required
- Configure forms, plugins, integrations, and third-party tools
Performance, SEO & Optimization
- Optimize websites for speed, SEO, accessibility, and mobile performance
- Implement metadata, heading structures, alt text, internal links, and schema
- Improve Core Web Vitals
- Run audits using Lighthouse, PageSpeed Insights, GTmetrix, or similar tools
Testing & Maintenance
- Test websites across browsers, devices, and screen sizes
- Troubleshoot responsiveness, formatting, plugins, and functionality
- Maintain organized website assets and design systems
- Support ongoing website updates, revisions, backups, and maintenance
What We're Looking For
- 2+ years of professional website design experience
- Strong portfolio of website and landing page projects
- Proficiency with Figma, Adobe XD, Sketch, or similar tools
- Hands-on experience with WordPress, Webflow, Squarespace, or Shopify
- Strong HTML and CSS skills
- Understanding of modern UX/UI and responsive design
- Experience optimizing websites for SEO, speed, and mobile usability
- Strong attention to detail and visual design quality
- Comfortable collaborating remotely during U.S. business hours
Nice to Have
- Shopify or WooCommerce experience
- Basic JavaScript/front-end development knowledge
- Google Analytics and Google Tag Manager familiarity
- B2B SaaS, agency, or e-commerce experience
- Conversion-focused landing page and CRO experience
What Success Looks Like
- Website projects and revisions delivered on time
- Fast, responsive websites with strong performance scores
3 second page load targets * 90%+ Lighthouse mobile responsiveness/accessibility targets
- Clean and consistent experiences across devices
- Fewer bugs and post-launch issues
- Strong stakeholder feedback on design and usability
Why This Role Stands Out
- Own projects from design through implementation
- Work across UX/UI, CMS development, SEO, and optimization
- Build real websites rather than producing designs that never ship
- Exposure to multiple platforms and digital projects
- Fully remote environment
- Growth opportunities into Senior Web Designer, UX/UI Designer, Webflow Developer, or Design Lead
Interview Process * Initial Screening
- Spark Hire Intro Video
- Recruiter Interview
- Portfolio Review + Practical Website Task
- Client Interview
- Offer & Onboarding
