Position Summary
The Mission Crew Commander (MCC) serves as the operational leader for Falcon-I mission activities, responsible for directing airborne collection operations and coordinating mission execution among pilots, sensor operators, analysts, and ground support personnel. The MCC ensures mission objectives are achieved safely, efficiently, and in accordance with operational procedures while maintaining the highest standards of flight safety, data quality, and crew performance.
Essential Functions
*Mission Leadership*
- Direct and oversee all phases of assigned Falcon-I missions.
- Serve as the primary mission authority during flight operations.
- Coordinate activities between flight crew, sensor operators, and mission support personnel.
- Conduct mission briefings, debriefings, and operational reviews.
- Monitor mission progress and adjust collection plans as required to meet objectives.
*Operational Management*
- Develop and review mission plans, flight routes, and collection requirements.
- Ensure mission execution complies with FAA regulations, company policies, and customer requirements.
- Evaluate weather, airspace restrictions, and operational risks prior to launch.
- Maintain situational awareness of aircraft status, sensor performance, and mission timelines.
*Sensor and Collection Oversight*
- Supervise operation of LiDAR, EO/IR, imaging, and geospatial collection systems.
- Verify collection parameters and data quality throughout mission execution.
- Direct sensor tasking to maximize coverage and mission effectiveness.
- Coordinate with processing and analysis teams to ensure collection requirements are met.
*Safety and Risk Management*
- Promote and enforce a strong safety culture.
- Identify operational hazards and implement risk mitigation measures.
