About the Role
We are looking for a Configuration Manager to govern, maintain, and protect the integrity of the Configuration Management System (CMS) and Configuration Management Database (CMDB).
This role ensures accurate and reliable information about IT infrastructure, assets, and service relationships is available to support Incident, Change, and Problem Management. The Configuration Manager will define CI standards, manage service mapping and discovery processes, drive CMDB data quality, and lead audits to maintain the CMDB as a trusted single source of truth.
What You'll Do
Define and govern the CMDB architecture, including CI classes, attributes, naming standards, and relationship mappings.
Map technical infrastructure CIs to critical business services to support impact analysis for Incident and Change Management.
Configure and maintain automated discovery processes, troubleshoot discovery issues, and integrate cloud and on-premises asset data sources.
Establish and perform regular CMDB compliance audits to identify and resolve discrepancies between the IT environment and CMDB data.
Partner with Change Management to ensure approved changes accurately update the CMDB and undocumented changes are identified and flagged.
Establish CMDB health KPIs, including completeness, correctness, and compliance, and produce data quality reports and scorecards.
Enforce configuration data maintenance policies across infrastructure and engineering teams.
Continuously improve CMDB processes, data quality, service relationships, and configuration management practices.
What We're Looking For
3–5 years of experience in IT operations, asset management, systems administration, or a related field, including at least 2 years dedicated to ITIL Service Configuration Management.
Proven experience building, managing, or maintaining a CMDB in an enterprise environment.
Expert knowledge of ITIL Service Configuration Management and SACM practices.
