Position summary

The Client Business Advisor owns the successful delivery of services across a portfolio of small-business clients. After initial discovery, you will gather the details, organize the service plan, coordinate the accounting team, review monthly financial output for reasonableness, ensure reports are delivered on time, resolve service breakdowns, and identify additional ways we can help. This is broader than accounting: it requires business understanding, excellent English communication, operational discipline, and the confidence to take responsibility for the result.

Key responsibilities
- Lead detailed onboarding and convert client needs into clear recurring workflows.




- Coordinate several accounting professionals and eventually a portfolio of approximately 40-50 standardized small-business clients.
- Monitor monthly close, open items, report preparation, quality review, and delivery deadlines.
- Review P&Ls;, balance sheets, reconciliations, job-costing reports, and management reports for anomalies and business reasonableness.
- Ask clear questions, obtain needed information, and make sure issues are actually resolved.
- Prepare and coordinate technical or advisory questions for the Chartered Accountant.
- Take responsibility for being understood; adapt communication rather than blaming the client or another team member.
- Identify additional bookkeeping, reporting, office-support, staffing, process-improvement, and automation opportunities.
- Use Claude, ChatGPT, spreadsheets, and AI-assisted tools to improve reports, procedures, analysis, and workflows.
