Position Overview
GFC Intelligence is an AI operating system for industrial and distribution businesses. We're hiring an inside sales rep to build and run pipeline into lumber and building materials distributors — lumberyards, wholesale lumber dealers, and construction materials distributors. This is a full-cycle role: outbound prospecting, discovery, and either closing or qualified handoff depending on deal size. You'll be selling to people who already know the pain points of quoting, inventory, and order management in this industry — you need to speak that language on day one.
Key Responsibilities
Build and run outbound pipeline into lumber yards, building material wholesalers, and construction materials distributors (calls, email, LinkedIn)
Qualify inbound leads and run discovery calls that surface real operational pain — pricing volatility, manual quote turnaround, order-to-delivery visibility, ERP gaps
Own CRM pipeline hygiene — accurate stage, next steps, forecasted close, no stale deals
Partner with leadership on deal strategy and pricing for larger accounts
Hit weekly and monthly activity and pipeline targets tied to company revenue goals
Feed market and buyer feedback back to product/leadership — you're on the front line of what this vertical actually needs
Required Qualifications
2+ years of inside sales experience, with direct exposure to lumber, building materials, or a closely adjacent construction-supply distribution segment
Working knowledge of how a lumberyard or building materials distributor actually operates — quote-to-order cycle, pricing volatility, contractor vs. dealer buying behavior
Demonstrated track record of hitting outbound activity and pipeline generation targets, not just managing inbound
Strong written and verbal communication — this role is outreach-heavy
Comfortable in an early-stage environment with no fixed playbook — you'll help build the one that gets used
