Energy Systems Engineer

This role plays a critical part in evaluating commercial building energy systems, identifying cost-effective engineering solutions, and developing strategies that maximize both energy performance and available utility incentives. ? What You'll Do:

• Evaluate commercial building energy systems, including HVAC, boilers, domestic hot water, lighting, building envelope, windows, and other energy efficiency measures.

• Analyze building systems and recommend technically sound, cost-effective solutions that maximize project return on investment (ROI).

• Evaluate utility incentive programs (Con Edison, National Grid, NYSERDA, PSEG, and others) and determine the optimal incentive strategy for each project.

• Review energy models, equipment specifications, and engineering designs to verify technical eligibility for available incentive programs.





• Perform technical and financial analyses, including projected energy savings, project economics, ROI, IRR, and incentive optimization.

• Collaborate with Engineering, Estimating, and Operations teams to optimize project scope and overall financial performance.

• Research emerging technologies, utility programs, financing mechanisms, and regulatory changes affecting energy efficiency projects.

• Develop engineering standards, technical guidelines, and continuously improve the company's internal knowledge base.

? What We're Looking For:

✔ Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering.

✔ Proven experience with commercial building energy systems.

✔ Strong knowledge of HVAC systems, boilers, chillers, pumps, domestic hot water systems, and building envelope components.

✔ Experience evaluating energy efficiency measures.

✔ Strong analytical and financial reasoning skills.
