Traffic Control Advertising

Bogotá

If you love figuring out how systems work, connecting tools that weren't designed to talk to each other, and automating work that people are still doing manually, keep reading. Traffic Control Advertising is a US-based performance marketing agency helping businesses grow through paid advertising, creative production, technology, and customer acquisition systems.

We're investing heavily in AI, automation, and internal technology, and we're looking for someone who wants to help us build it.

This is not a role where you'll spend your day completing repetitive support tickets.

We want a builder.

Someone who can look at a process, understand how the pieces fit together, figure out what can be automated, and then actually build the solution.

You'll work on real systems used by our team and our clients—from simple workflow automations to more complex integrations involving APIs, webhooks, CRMs, AI models, databases, and custom logic.

And you'll have a lot of room to experiment, solve problems, and make things better.

This Is More Than a Zapier Role Knowing automation platforms is important.

But we're not looking for someone whose technical process is limited to choosing triggers and actions from dropdown menus.

You should understand what is happening behind the automation.

If an integration doesn't exist natively, you should be comfortable investigating the API.

If a webhook fails, you should know how to inspect the payload.

If authentication breaks, you should know where to start looking.

If the data isn't arriving in the right format, you should be able to transform it.

And if you've never solved that particular problem before, your instinct should be:

"I'll figure it out."

What You'll Do You'll help us design, build, troubleshoot, and improve automation systems across our agency and client operations.

That may include

- Building automated workflows using platforms such as Make, n8n, Zapier, GoHighLevel, and similar tools
- Connecting applications through REST APIs
- Building and managing webhook integrations
- Working with JSON requests, responses, and payloads
- Setting up API authentication and managing API keys, tokens, and credentials securely
- Sending and receiving data between CRMs, advertising platforms, forms, spreadsheets, databases, communication tools, and other software
- Building AI-powered workflows using platforms such as OpenAI and other LLM APIs
- Creating automated lead-management and follow-up systems
- Building CRM automations and pipeline workflows
- Connecting forms, landing pages, calendars, email, SMS, and sales systems
- Creating internal automations that eliminate repetitive work
- Troubleshooting failed workflows and integrations
- Reviewing logs and identifying where data is breaking
- Transforming and cleaning data between systems
- Testing automations before deployment
- Documenting how important systems work
- Improving existing automations as our processes evolve

Some projects may take 20 minutes.

Others may require researching documentation, testing endpoints, debugging payloads, and working through a problem until the entire system works correctly.

We need someone who enjoys both.

What Winning Looks Like Here A great automation specialist doesn't just build workflows.

They build workflows that keep working.

You'll be successful here if you:

- Solve problems without needing step-by-step instructions
- Build reliable automations that don't constantly break
- Test your work before calling it finished
- Think about edge cases and failure scenarios
- Understand the business objective behind what you're building

- Communicate clearly when you encounter a problem
- Know when to research documentation instead of guessing
- Look for ways to simplify systems rather than unnecessarily complicating them
- Identify automation opportunities we haven't noticed yet
- Get noticeably better as you work with our systems

We're less interested in whether you've memorized every platform.

We're much more interested in whether you understand how systems communicate and how to solve technical problems.

Who We're Looking For You should have hands-on experience with:

- Automation platforms such as Make, n8n, Zapier, or similar
- Working with APIs
- Creating and receiving webhooks
- REST API fundamentals
- HTTP requests such as GET, POST, PUT/PATCH, and DELETE
- JSON
- API authentication
- Mapping and transforming data between applications
- Troubleshooting integrations
- CRM automation
- AI tools and LLM-based workflows

You should also be:
- Technically curious
- Highly resourceful
- Detail-oriented
- Comfortable researching documentation
- Able to work independently
- Good at communicating technical issues in simple language
- Organized enough to document what you build
- Comfortable working in a fast-moving environment
- Willing to admit when you don't know something—and capable of figuring it out

We'd Especially Like to Meet You If... You've built things like:

- Lead routing systems
- Automated CRM pipelines
- AI lead qualification
- AI agents or assistants
- Automated SMS/email follow-up
- Appointment booking workflows
- Marketing reporting automations
- Advertising-data integrations
- Automated client onboarding
- CRM-to-ad-platform integrations
- Internal notification systems
- Webhook-based integrations
- Custom API connections between platforms
- Automated data enrichment
- AI content or creative workflows
- Call transcription and analysis systems
- Automated reporting or dashboards
- Multi-step workflows with branching logic and error handling

You don't need experience with every example above.

We care much more about the complexity of the problems you've solved than the number of software logos on your resume.

Bonus Skills These are not required, but they'll make you especially interesting to us:

- JavaScript
- Python
- SQL
- Postman
- Git/GitHub
- Supabase
- Airtable
- GoHighLevel
- HubSpot
- Slack integrations
- Google Workspace APIs
- Meta APIs
- Google Ads APIs
- TikTok APIs
- Twilio
- Stripe
- AI agents
- Vector databases / RAG workflows
- Serverless functions
- Basic database architecture

Again:

You do not need to know all of these.

We'd rather hire someone with strong fundamentals who can learn new technology quickly than someone who has used 30 tools but doesn't understand what's happening underneath them.

AI Experience Matters We're not looking for someone who simply knows how to use ChatGPT.

We're interested in someone who understands how AI can become part of an vigente business workflow.

That might mean

Trigger → Data → AI Model → Decision → Action → CRM Update → Follow-Up

You should be comfortable thinking about where AI is useful, where traditional automation is better, and how the two can work together.

We're particularly interested in using AI to improve:

- Sales
- Lead qualification
- Customer service
- Reporting
- Marketing operations
- Internal productivity
- Research
- Data analysis
- Client operations

You'll have opportunities to help us test and build these systems.

Resourcefulness Matters You are not expected to know every API, platform, or solution before you start.

Technology changes too quickly for that.

What matters is what happens when you encounter something you haven't seen before.

Can you

Read the documentation?

Find the correct endpoint?

Understand the payload?

Test the request?

Interpret the error?

Research the problem?

Keep troubleshooting until it works?

That's the person we're looking for.

What We Offer$1,500 USD/month Paid consistently and on time.

Real Projects You won't be building fake portfolio exercises.

You'll work on automation systems that are actually used by our agency and our clients.

Direct Access to Leadership You'll work directly with the people responsible for running and growing the company.

There aren't five layers of management between you and a decision.

If you identify a better way to build something, we want to hear it.

Ownership We're not hiring someone simply to execute tickets forever.

As you prove yourself, we want you taking greater ownership over our automation infrastructure and helping determine what we should automate next.

Exposure to Multiple Businesses and Systems Because we're an agency, you'll encounter different industries, CRMs, funnels, advertising platforms, sales processes, and technology stacks.

You'll solve a much wider range of problems than you would maintaining one internal workflow at a single company.

Opportunity to Build With AI We're actively looking for ways to integrate AI deeper into our operations and client services.

You'll have the opportunity to experiment with new tools, APIs, models, and automation approaches—and turn the useful ones into working systems.

This Role Is Probably NOT for You If...

- You only know how to build basic Zapier automations
- You've never worked directly with an API
- JSON looks completely foreign to you
- You need a tutorial for every task you're assigned
- You give up when the first solution doesn't work
- You routinely build workflows without testing them
- You consider something "finished" even though it breaks under common edge cases
- You dislike reading technical documentation
- You wait for someone else to identify every problem
- You're uncomfortable being accountable for whether the system actually works
- You're looking for a relaxed remote job where someone tells you exactly what to do all day

But if you enjoy opening documentation, testing an API, solving a problem nobody else knows how to solve, and watching an entire process run automatically because you built it...

You'll probably fit in very well here.

We're interviewing immediately.

Your resume matters, but for a technical role like this, what you've actually built matters much more.

When applying, be prepared to show us examples of automations or integrations you've personally created and explain:

- What problem you were solving
- What systems were involved
- How the automation worked
- What you personally built
- What went wrong while building it
- How you solved those problems

Candidates who advance will also receive a short practical technical challenge designed to test problem-solving, API knowledge, webhooks, and automation logic.

We're not interested in trick questions.

We want to see how you think and how you build.
