- Provide leadership during major incidents and complex infrastructure escalations, coordinating technical teams, vendors, client stakeholders, and service management until service is restored and risk is controlled.
- Ensure recurring incidents and material service failures are investigated through effective problem management, root cause analysis, corrective actions, preventive actions, and verified follow-through.
- Review infrastructure architecture, engineering plans, operational changes, technical risks, lifecycle concerns, capacity constraints, and remediation strategies with architects and team leads.
- Ensure infrastructure-related vulnerabilities, patching gaps, audit findings, security recommendations,
and compliance issues are assessed, prioritized, assigned, tracked, and remediated within agreed timelines.
- Oversee backup, recovery, disaster recovery, monitoring, capacity, availability, lifecycle, technical debt, documentation, and operational readiness across the infrastructure scope.
- Partner with the Service Delivery Manager by providing infrastructure performance, risk, incident, roadmap, and improvement information for service reviews, QBRs, executive discussions, and client communications.
- Collaborate with Project Managers and technical teams to assign engineering resources, identify dependencies and risks, oversee technical delivery, and ensure effective transition of projects into steady-state operations.
- Identify and justify requirements for tools, hardware, licensing, support, capacity, resilience, and technology refresh, and provide recommendations to the client and Service Delivery Manager for evaluation and approval.
- Establish and maintain infrastructure standards, governance mechanisms, operating procedures, escalation models, ownership matrices, dashboards, technical documentation, and service improvement plans.
- Manage performance, coaching, development plans, certification goals, cross-training, succession planning, hiring support, and retention initiatives for architects, team leads, and infrastructure engineering personnel.
