The Role

You'll be the primary Backend Developer and technical owner our US operations. This means:

Development & Execution
- Build and maintain critical backend systems: APIs, data integrations, workflow engines, and service connectors.
- Write production-quality code that other developers can understand, maintain, and build upon.
- Debug complex issues spanning multiple systems and data flows.
- Optimize performance and reliability of systems handling NAM operations.
- Implement features defined by architecture team and business requirements.

Knowledge Consolidation
- Map out existing systems, dependencies, and integration patterns—much of this knowledge currently exists only in people's heads.
- Document architecture decisions, data flows, and why certain solutions were chosen.
- Create runbooks and guides so others can maintain systems when you're unavailable.
- Identify technical debt, gaps, and risks in current infrastructure.
- Train other developers on our systems and best practices.

Governance & Quality




- Participate in daily stand-ups with IT leadership and architecture.
- Contribute to code reviews,both your code being reviewed and reviewing others'.
- Follow and help define QA processes, testing standards, and deployment procedures.
- Work with IT governance to ensure systems meet security, compliance, and reliability requirements.
- Document decisions and maintain architectural clarity.

Collaboration & Problem-Solving
- Participate in weekly transition planning with Operations Lead and Tech Solutions Engineer
- Surface technical blockers early and propose solutions.
- Align with business requirements and communicate tradeoffs.
- Support Nico in training him on architecture patterns so he can eventually lead technical decisions.

You'll have immediate impact: Contributing to live projects from day one, serving as the technical reference for Sparkon, and helping structure processes in a transitioning team.
