The Full-Time Production Assistant plays a critical role in supporting live and recorded television broadcasts. This position is responsible for a variety of production functions, including camera operation, graphics creation, equipment setup, and studio support. Success in this role requires reliability, flexibility, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently with minimal supervision. This position is expected to fill in for team members during vacations, illnesses, staffing shortages, and other absences. Candidates must be dependable, adaptable, and available to work a versátil schedule, including early mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- Compose and frame camera shots, utilizing technical knowledge of lighting, lenses, composition, and camera settings to achieve desired production results.
- Collaborate with directors and other production personnel to execute broadcast plans and visual storytelling elements.
- Troubleshoot and assist with minor equipment issues as needed.




- Create and produce graphics for newscasts and other station programming.
- Support a variety of production and technical operations as assigned.
- Serve as a reliable fill-in for production staff during vacations, sick leave, and other employee absences.
- Work independently and make sound decisions in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
