UnifyCX is growing and looking for a Payroll Specialist to join our motivated and ambitious team in Barranquilla.What Will You Do?As a Payroll Specialist, you’ll play a critical role in making sure our employees are paid accurately, on time, and in compliance with Colombian payroll and employment regulations. You’ll work closely with our HR, Finance, and Operations teams to manage payroll processes and help ensure a smooth experience for our employees.Key ResponsibilitiesProcess and validate monthly payroll for employees in accordance with established payroll schedules and company procedures.Review payroll inputs including salaries, bonuses, commissions, overtime, absences, vacations, incapacities, deductions, and other employee adjustments.Process payroll changes related to new hires, terminations, promotions, salary adjustments, transfers, and other employee movements.Ensure payroll calculations are accurate and completed within established deadlines.Support the calculation and processing of Colombian social security contributions and other statutory payroll obligations.Manage and oversee the payroll withholding taxes, ensuring the proper application of Colombian tax regulations, minimizing the risk of errors, penalties, or tax contingencies.Maintain accurate employee payroll records and documentation.Prepare payroll reports and reconcile payroll information with HR and Finance records.Investigate and resolve payroll discrepancies quickly and accurately.Respond to employee questions regarding payroll, deductions, benefits,
and statutory contributions.Maintain strict confidentiality when handling employee compensation and personal information.Support payroll audits and provide required documentation and reports.Monitor changes to Colombian payroll and employment regulations and communicate relevant updates to HR and Finance leadership.Identify opportunities to improve payroll processes, controls, and employee support.Partner with internal teams and external payroll providers, when applicable, to ensure payroll processes run smoothly.Who are you?You’re a detail-oriented and organized payroll professional who understands that accuracy, confidentiality, and deadlines matter. You enjoy working with numbers and data, but you also understand the importance of providing excellent service to employees who depend on you for accurate and timely pay.Required Skills/Experience2-4 years of experience working in payroll administration in Colombia.Strong knowledge of Colombian payroll processes, labor requirements, social security, and statutory contributions.Experience processing payroll for a high-volume workforce; BPO or contact center experience is a plus.Strong Excel skills and the ability to analyze and reconcile large amounts of data.Experience working with payroll, HRIS, timekeeping,
or related systems.Strong attention to detail and a commitment to payroll accuracy.Excellent organizational and time-management skills.The ability to manage multiple priorities while consistently meeting payroll deadlines.Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to investigate discrepancies and determine appropriate solutions.Excellent communication and customer service skills.A high level of integrity and discretion when handling confidential employee information.A proactive mindset with an interest in identifying ways to improve processes and eliminate errors.Bilingual English/Spanish both written and verbal communication proficiency.Preferred QualificationsA degree or technical education in Accounting, Finance, Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.Experience with payroll platforms such as Siigo, Helisa, Novasoft, SAP, Oracle, Workday, or similar systems.Experience working with an external payroll provider.Intermediate to advanced Excel skills.Experience supporting payroll audits or internal controls.Who We AreUnifyCX is a transformative AI platform that empowers and enables teams to deliver efficient, exceptional customer experiences.
