Company Description VK Custom Kitchens, LLC is a commercial cabinetry and architectural millwork company based in the Inman SC. We design and build custom casework and millwork for commercial projects including courthouses, schools, hospitals, and hospitality properties, partnering with general contractors. Our shop team combines hands-on craftsmanship with close attention to spec compliance and project detail.

Role Description The Estimating Manager role is a full-time remote position responsible for leading the estimating function for custom kitchen projects. This role includes reviewing architectural drawings and specifications, preparing detailed cost estimates, and developing pricing proposals for cabinetry, materials, hardware, and labor. The Estimating Manager will coordinate with sales, design, and production teams to clarify project requirements, validate quantities, and align estimates with client expectations and company margins. Day-to-day tasks include managing bid schedules, maintaining and updating cost databases, analyzing supplier and subcontractor quotations, and identifying value-engineering options. The role also involves overseeing the accuracy and consistency of estimates, supporting contract negotiations with solid cost data,



and providing periodic reporting on bid status and win/loss trends to leadership.

Qualifications

- SPEAKS FLUENT ENGLISH
- Demonstrated experience in construction or millwork estimating, preferably in cabinetry, custom kitchens, or related interiors.
- Strong analytical and numerical skills, including proficiency with spreadsheets and estimating or project management software.
- Ability to read and interpret architectural plans, shop drawings, and technical specifications.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills for collaborating with internal teams, suppliers, and clients.
- Proven organizational skills, including managing multiple bids, deadlines, and changing priorities in a remote environment.
- Attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy, cost control, and budget alignment.
- Capability to work independently, exercise sound judgment, and support decisions with data and clear rationale.
- Experience leading or mentoring estimating staff is beneficial.
- Familiarity with cabinetry materials, hardware, finishes, and fabrication processes is a plus.
- Associate or bachelor’s degree in construction management, engineering, business, or a related field preferred, or equivalent practical experience.
