Starting Compensation: $7.00 USD per hour

POSITION OVERVIEW

Chicago Building Group, Inc. is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Construction Estimator to join our team remotely.

This position will support our U.S.-based construction and restoration operations by preparing estimates for residential, commercial, remodeling, restoration, and insurance claim projects, with a strong focus on properties affected by storms and other insured losses.

The adecuado candidate has previous construction estimating experience and understands how to develop accurate scopes of work, quantities, labor and material costs, and professional estimates from plans, measurements, photographs, inspection reports, and insurance documentation.

**Previous estimating experience is required.
**Experience with Xactimate is highly preferred and will be considered a significant advantage.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

- Prepare detailed estimates for residential and commercial construction projects.
- Estimate remodeling, reconstruction, roofing, exterior, interior, and restoration projects.
- Prepare estimates for insurance-related property damage claims.
- Review storm-loss documentation, inspection reports, photographs, measurements, plans, and other project information.
- Develop accurate scopes of work based on available project documentation.
- Calculate material quantities, labor requirements, equipment, subcontractor costs, and other project expenses.
- Review insurance carrier estimates and identify potential scope or pricing discrepancies.
- Assist with supplemental estimates when additional damage or necessary work is identified.
- Prepare professional estimates and supporting documentation for internal review, clients, insurance carriers, and adjusters.
- Coordinate remotely with project managers, office personnel, field inspectors, and management.
- Maintain organized digital estimating and project files.




- Complete assigned estimates within established deadlines.

XACTIMATE & INSURANCE RESTORATION

Xactimate knowledge is highly preferred.

Candidates with experience preparing estimates for insurance restoration projects using Xactimate will receive strong consideration.

- Insurance restoration estimating
- Storm, wind, hail, and water damage claims
- Roofing and exterior restoration
- Water mitigation and reconstruction
- Insurance carrier estimates
- Supplements and scope revisions

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

- Previous experience in construction estimating or a closely related estimating role.
- Strong understanding of construction materials, labor, quantities, and scopes of work.
- Ability to read and interpret plans, measurements, photographs, inspection documentation, and project scopes.
- Strong mathematical and analytical skills.
- Excellent attention to detail.
- Ability to communicate professionally with a U.S.-based team.
- Ability to manage multiple estimates and deadlines simultaneously.
- Reliable and professional remote-work environment.
- Ability to work the required U.S. Central Time schedule.

REMOTE WORK REQUIREMENTS

This is a fully remote position.



All equipment and tools required to perform the position must be provided by the applicant.

Candidates must have:

- Reliable computer/laptop capable of running required estimating and office software
- Reliable high-speed internet connection
- Webcam and microphone/headset
- Quiet and professional workspace
- Ability to participate in video meetings and team communications
- CRM experience & Google/One Drive knowledge
- Reliable access to email and cloud-based project management systems

Any specialized company accounts, project access, or credentials required for assigned work will be discussed with selected candidates.

WORK SCHEDULE

Monday through Friday8:00 AM – 5:00 PM U.S. Central Time

Applicants must be available to consistently work during these hours and coordinate in real time with our U.S.-based operations.

COMPENSATION

Starting Rate: $7.00 USD per hour

Compensation and final hiring consideration will be contingent upon the candidate's construction estimating experience, technical knowledge, Xactimate experience, insurance restoration experience, and demonstrated ability to accurately prepare estimates.
