Position Title: Senior Backend Developer
Location: LATAM
What you will be doing:
The idóneo candidate has deep JVM expertise, strong proficiency in Kotlin or Java, and recent hands-on experience with Spring Boot. This role requires someone who can design, build, troubleshoot, and operate distributed, integration-heavy systems in complex customer-controlled cloud environments.
Beyond traditional backend engineering,



this position expects strong proficiency with AI-assisted software development, including daily use of Claude Code and AI-powered code-review tools. The successful candidate will be able to move quickly with AI while maintaining high engineering standards and independently validating AI-generated code for correctness, security, maintainability, test coverage, and architectural fit.
Required Skills & Experience
8+ years of professional backend software development, including substantial ownership of production systems.
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field, or equivalent practical
experience.
Deep JVM experience and strong proficiency with Kotlin or Java (preferred); recent hands-on Spring Boot experience is required.
Demonstrated ability to design, implement, and troubleshoot distributed, integration-heavy systems.
Strong PostgreSQL and SQL skills, including schema design, query analysis, migrations, and production data investigation.
