Solum Health builds AI-powered front-office automation for behavioral health and therapy practices: ABA, physical therapy, occupational therapy, and speech-language pathology. Our platform runs eligibility verification, verification of benefits, prior authorization, referral intake, and patient scheduling for clinics across the United States.

We are a HIPAA Business Associate with SOC 2 Type 2 attestation. We are a small team, which means the person in this role has real ownership from week one.

The Role

You already know what a bad VOB costs a clinic. A missed deductible reset, a wrong copay, an authorization requirement nobody caught, and the practice eats the claim three months later.

This role is about making sure that stops happening at scale. You will verify benefits for patients across our client clinics, review what our automated system returns before it reaches the clinic, and identify the payer-specific patterns that cause verifications to go wrong. When you find one, you help us encode the rule so the system handles it correctly the next time.

You are not making the same fifty calls a day for one practice. You are applying the same expertise across a portfolio of clinics, and the work you do compounds.

What You'll Do

- Complete verification of benefits for behavioral health and therapy services, including deductibles, copays, coinsurance, out-of-pocket maximums, visit limits, and authorization requirements
- Verify eligibility and coverage through payer portals, clearinghouses, and direct payer calls when portals fall short
- Review benefit data returned by our automated system and confirm accuracy before it reaches the clinic
- Flag and document payer-specific behaviors, plan quirks, and recurring error patterns so they can be built into our logic




- Identify when prior authorization is required and initiate the request or route it to the right workflow
- Enter and maintain accurate benefit information in client systems and our platform
- Work directly with clinic staff to resolve coverage questions and discrepancies
- Maintain HIPAA compliance in every interaction involving protected health information

What We're Looking For

- I deal, not necessary: 2+ years of verification of benefits, insurance verification, or benefits eligibility experience in a healthcare setting
- Working knowledge of commercial and Medicaid plans, including how deductibles, coinsurance, visit limits, and authorization requirements interact
- Experience with payer portals and clearinghouses (Availity, Waystar, or equivalent) and comfort calling payers directly when needed
- Ability to read a benefits response critically and recognize when something does not add up
- Strong written documentation habits. If you find a payer quirk, you can explain it clearly enough for someone else to act on it
- Comfort working independently in a remote, fast-moving environment

Strong Plus

- ABA, PT, OT, or SLP benefit verification experience
- Familiarity with behavioral health authorization requirements and CPT codes common to therapy services
- Experience with practice management systems or EHRs used in therapy settings (CentralReach, WebPT, Raintree, or similar)
- Interest in working alongside automation and helping shape how it behaves
