UX/UI Designer – Healthcare

Shokworks is seeking a highly skilled UX/UI Designer with proven experience designing complex digital products within the healthcare or health-tech industry.

The idóneo candidate combines strong UX strategy, visual design, and user-centered methodologies with the ability to transform complex healthcare requirements and workflows into intuitive, accessible, and effective digital experiences.

Responsibilities

- Lead UX/UI design from discovery and research through final implementation.
- Apply Design Thinking or similar user-centered design methodologies.
- Conduct or support user research, interviews, usability testing, journey mapping, and user validation.
- Translate complex healthcare workflows and business requirements into intuitive user experiences.
- Create user flows, information architecture, wireframes, prototypes, and high-fidelity designs.
- Develop and maintain design systems, UI components, and design guidelines.
- Design responsive experiences for web and, when applicable, mobile platforms.
- Design complex workflows involving multiple users, permissions, data sources, and business rules.
- Collaborate closely with Product, Engineering, Business, and other cross-functional teams.
- Work with developers to ensure accurate and consistent implementation of designs.
- Review implemented products and identify UX/UI improvements and inconsistencies.
- Present and clearly communicate design decisions to technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Required Qualifications
- 4+ years of professional experience in UX/UI Design, Product Design, or a related field.
- Proven experience designing complex digital products, preferably within healthcare or health-tech.
- Hands-on experience with Design Thinking or similar user-centered methodologies.
- Strong knowledge of:
- UX Research
- User Journeys & Personas
- Information Architecture
- Interaction Design
- User Flows
- Usability Testing
- Prototyping
- Accessibility
- Strong UI design skills,



including:
- Visual Design
- Responsive Design
- Typography
- Layout & Grid Systems
- Design Systems
- Data Visualization
- Advanced proficiency with Figma or equivalent professional design tools.
- Experience taking digital products from research and user flows through wireframing, prototyping, high-fidelity UI design, and collaboration with developers through implementation.
- Experience working with engineering and cross-functional teams.
- Strong communication and presentation skills.
- Excellent spoken and written English is mandatory.

Healthcare Experience Professional experience in healthcare or health-tech is required.

Experience with the following is highly relevant:

- EHR/EMR platforms
- Clinical applications
- Patient portals
- Telehealth platforms
- Healthcare data platforms
- Medical or clinical workflows
- Health information systems
- Provider-facing applications
- Patient-facing digital products
- Healthcare analytics
- Remote patient monitoring or wearable platforms
- Healthcare interoperability or data exchange

Experience working with sensitive healthcare data, privacy requirements, complex permissions, or regulated environments is a plus.

Nice to Have

- Experience using AI-powered applications to support UX/UI design workflows, including ideation, visual exploration, prototyping, or image generation.
- Familiarity with Generative AI tools for creative and design processes.
- Experience designing products in highly regulated industries.
- Familiarity with FHIR, HL7, APIs, or healthcare data exchange.




- Knowledge of accessibility and inclusive design standards.
- Experience designing complex data-driven interfaces.
- Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments.
- Basic knowledge of HTML, CSS, JavaScript, or modern frontend technologies.

Tools
- Figma / FigJam
- Adobe Creative Suite or equivalent
- AI-powered design and creative applications (nice to have)
