Lumen Partners
Colombia
Client Sector: Cybersecurity SaaS / Security Awareness Technology
Location: 100% Remote - Colombia
Schedule: Full-Time, assigned US business hours (Pacific, Central, or Eastern)
Role Type: Independent Contractor - Client-Facing Technical Implementation
Compensation: $2,500-$3,000 USD/month
ABOUT LUMEN PARTNERS & THE CLIENT
- Lumen Partners connects high-performing remote professionals with scaling US organizations. We are hiring a Technical Implementation Consultant to support a fast-growing cybersecurity SaaS company focused on security awareness and simulated phishing.
- This is not a traditional help desk or hands-on systems administration role. You will typically not log into customer systems and make configuration changes yourself. Instead, you will lead virtual implementation calls, understand the customer's email and security environment, identify blockers, and guide their IT team or MSP through the changes required for a successful deployment.
THE MISSION (Role Overview)
- Own the customer implementation experience from kickoff through go-live. Your job is to translate technical requirements into clear guidance, keep stakeholders moving, and prevent avoidable support issues before they happen.
CORE RESPONSIBILITIES (The Day-to-Day)
- Implementation Ownership: Lead assigned implementations from discovery and kickoff through testing, go-live, and handoff.
- Customer IT Guidance: Run virtual sessions with customer IT teams and MSPs and guide them through required configuration changes and next steps.
- Email Security & Allowlisting: Advise on allowlisting/whitelisting, sender or domain trust, filtering, and mail-delivery requirements across environments such as Microsoft 365, Proofpoint, Mimecast, and Microsoft Defender for Office 365.
- Environment Discovery: Understand how each customer's email and security stack is structured and surface dependencies or blockers early.
- Technical Translation & Troubleshooting: Turn technical requirements into clear instructions, help customers reason through implementation issues,
and escalate when deeper product or engineering support is needed.
- Stakeholder & Process Management: Keep customers informed, manage action items and timelines, maintain clean documentation, and support occasional discovery or proof-of-concept conversations.
THE ADECUADO CANDIDATE PROFILE (Pre-requisites)
- This is a crossover role. We need someone with real technical fluency and real client presence - not a pure sys-admin who struggles with customers, and not a polished communicator who only knows enough IT vocabulary to sound technical.
Must-Have Foundations
- 3+ years of experience in SaaS implementation, technical onboarding, solutions consulting, technical customer success, MSP support, or a similar customer-facing technical role.
- Prior experience speaking directly with customers about technical environments, configurations, integrations, or implementation requirements.
- Working understanding of Microsoft 365 and common email-security / mail-delivery concepts, including allowlisting, filtering, quarantine, sender/domain trust, and basic mail flow.
- Excellent spoken and written English with the confidence to lead professional video calls with US-based customers and senior technical stakeholders.
- Strong judgment: you are comfortable saying "I need to verify that" rather than guessing, bluffing, or giving unsupported technical guidance.
- Reliable organization and follow-through across multiple implementations, action items, and stakeholders.
Nice-to-Have (Bonus Points, Not Required)
- Experience with Proofpoint, Mimecast, Microsoft Defender for Office 365, Exchange, or similar email-security platforms.
- Familiarity with Google Workspace, Entra ID (Azure AD), Okta, SSO, SCIM, SAML, DNS,
SMTP, or SaaS integrations.
- Background with an MSP, cybersecurity company, B2B SaaS platform, Microsoft partner, cloud consultancy, or technical onboarding team.
- Experience with security-awareness training, simulated phishing, email deliverability, or US-based customer environments.
WHO WILL SUCCEED IN THIS ROLE?
- The Technical Translator: You understand technical environments well enough to earn credibility with IT professionals, but you explain requirements clearly instead of hiding behind jargon.
- The Confident Client Guide: You can lead Zoom calls, ask direct questions, and guide experienced IT stakeholders without sounding scripted or junior.
- The Honest Problem Solver: You do not bluff. You ask the right questions, acknowledge gaps, verify what needs to be verified, and follow through.
- The Implementation Thinker: You naturally look ahead for blockers, dependencies, missing information, and the next steps needed to keep a deployment on track.
TECHNICAL REQUIREMENTS
- Reliable high-speed internet connection (minimum 50 Mbps download / 20 Mbps upload).
- Quiet, dedicated home office with a reliable computer, webcam, headset, and appropriate backup connectivity / power plan.
- Ability to consistently work the assigned US business-hour schedule.
WHAT WE OFFER
- Stable, full-time, long-term work.
- Direct exposure to US customer IT teams and deeper experience in SaaS implementation, cybersecurity, and technical consulting.
- Growth opportunities toward senior implementation, solutions consulting, or technical customer success roles.
- Ongoing support from Lumen Partners throughout your deployment.
WHAT TO EXPECT IN THE SELECTION PROCESS
- Shortlisted candidates may complete a brief Lumen culture and behavioral assessment and a role-aligned technical assessment before the initial interview. These are supplemental inputs used to better understand working style, judgment, communication, and technical readiness - not standalone hiring decisions.
