What We Are Looking For
We are seeking a Google Cloud Platform (GCP) Cloud Engineer with experience in cloud infrastructure implementation, platform administration, security, networking, and Infrastructure as Code (IaC).
This role will support a strategic manufacturing modernization initiative for a U.S. Navy submarine production environment, contributing to the implementation of a FedRAMP High/IL4-compliant Google Cloud Landing Zone that serves as the secure foundation for AI-enabled workforce and manufacturing platforms.
Responsibilities
Implement the Google Cloud Landing Zone architecture designed by the Cloud Architect across all project phases, including Assessment, Design, Build, Implementation, and Handover
Build and configure the GCP organizational structure, Cloud Identity tenant, billing accounts, IAM groups, and foundational cloud services
Develop and maintain Infrastructure as Code (IaC) components using Terraform to support scalable and repeatable deployments
Implement cloud controls aligned with FedRAMP High and IL4 requirements under the guidance of senior architecture and security teams
Configure and support Assured Workloads, VPC Service Controls, Customer-Managed Encryption Keys (CMEK), and secure cloud governance controls
Collaborate with Network and Security specialists to ensure compliance and security requirements are properly implemented
Partner with DevOps teams to execute cloud infrastructure deployments and validation activities
Support Terraform deployment, testing, version control, and infrastructure validation processes
Perform cloud administration activities involving compute, database, networking, identity, and security services
Assist with compliance validation and readiness activities prior to FedRAMP and IL4 sign-off
Document infrastructure configurations, operational procedures, and deployment standards to support long-term platform sustainability
Contribute to cloud platform optimization, automation, and continuous improvement initiatives
Requirements and Qualifications
Experience administering Google Cloud Platform (GCP) environments
Strong knowledge of GCP Administration services
Experience with GCP Compute services and cloud infrastructure deployment
Knowledge of Google Cloud database services
Experience implementing Google Cloud security controls and best practices
Knowledge of Google Cloud networking concepts and services
Experience building and managing cloud infrastructure using Terraform
Understanding of Infrastructure as Code (IaC) principles and deployment methodologies
Experience with IAM, identity management, and access control frameworks
Knowledge of Cloud Identity, billing account management, and organizational structures within GCP
Experience with version control and collaborative deployment practices
Ability to support cloud deployments in Agile delivery environments
Experience working with cloud governance, security, and compliance frameworks
Strong documentation and technical communication skills
Nice to Have
Experience supporting FedRAMP High, IL4, or similar regulated environments
Experience with Assured Workloads, VPC Service Controls, and CMEK
Google Cloud Professional Cloud Architect, Cloud Engineer, or Security certifications
Experience supporting large-scale cloud transformation initiatives
Familiarity with manufacturing, defense, aerospace, or highly regulated industries
Experience working with DevOps automation and CI/CD pipelines
Knowledge of cloud compliance and security accreditation processes
Experience collaborating with geographically distributed delivery teams
