Role Description

We're looking for a motivated Operations Assistant to support day-to-day operational activities in the Freight Brokerage industry . This part-time role will involve significant collaboration with internal teams and working with U.S. based companies to drive organizational success.

This is a great opportunity for a university student in Medellín who wants hands-on exposure to the logistics and transportation industry while building practical, resume-ready experience. You'll work closely with our operations team, learning the fundamentals of load planning, quoting, and day-to-day brokerage operations.

Responsibilities

- Assist in planning and tracking freight loads from pickup through delivery.
- Support the quoting process by gathering rate information and preparing quotes for customers.
- Monitor shipment status and proactively flag delays or issues to the operations team.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records in the Transportation Management System (TMS) or relevant tracking tools.




- Communicate with carriers and customers to confirm load details, schedules, and documentation.
- Assist with data entry, reporting, and organizing operational documents (rate confirmations, BOLs, invoices, etc.).
- Support the team with other administrative and operational tasks as needed.
- Help identify opportunities to improve tracking and quoting processes

Qualifications

- Currently pursuing a university degree (Business Administration, International Business, Logistics, Industrial Engineering, or related fields preferred, but open to other majors with strong interest in the industry).
- Available to work part-time (20–25 hrs/week, versátil around class schedule).
- Strong written and verbal communication skills in English (B2 or C1).
- Comfortable using computers and learning new software/systems (Excel, TMS platforms, email, etc.).
- Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple tasks.
- Proactive, eager to learn, and comfortable working in a fast-paced environment.
- No prior industry experience required — this role is designed as an entry point into freight brokerage/logistics.
- Based in Medellín, Colombia.
