Medical Billing Specialist

— Full-time RemoteWe are seeking an experienced Medical Billing Specialist to take ownership of the complete billing cycle for a growing healthcare practice. You will manage claim submission, payment posting, underpayment identification, and direct follow-up with insurance carriers—working independently with minimal hand-holding. This role requires accuracy, proactive problem-solving, and the ability to navigate complex billing workflows using PT Care and Office Ally.

Responsibilities:

- Submit claims accurately and on schedule via PT Care and Office Ally
- Post payments from insurance carriers and identify discrepancies or underpayments
- Independently follow up with insurance companies to resolve claim denials, rejections, and payment issues
- Reconcile accounts and generate accurate billing reports for the practice team
- Flag errors or inconsistencies before they impact patient care or revenue




- Maintain organized records and communicate billing status proactively
- Troubleshoot system issues and escalate technical problems appropriately

What We Are Looking For:

- 3+ years of hands-on medical billing experience (healthcare, physical therapy, or medical practices preferred)
- Proficiency with PT Care and Office Ally (or similar practice management and billing software)
- Strong attention to detail and ability to catch errors independently
- Proactive problem-solver who can navigate complex billing scenarios without constant supervision
- Professional written and verbal English communication skills
- Ability to work full-time hours aligned to U.S. Eastern Standard Time (EST)
- Must be located in an EST timezone country (e.g., Colombia, Mexico, Peru, Ecuador, Panama)

- Not just data entry—independent judgment and proactive issue resolution are core to the role
- Not a support position requiring constant check-ins; we need autonomous ownership of the billing cycle
- Not focused on volume alone—accuracy and relationship-building with insurance carriers matter
