Job Description The Senior Specialist, Medical Operations, Latin America (LATAM) Value & Implementation Global Medical Affairs Capabilities Hub, position resides in the Value & Implementation (V&I;) organization, which includes Integral Medical and Scientific Affairs as well as Outcomes Research. This position reports directly to the Regional Medical Operations Lead, of LATAM V&I; GMVC Hub. This position is an integral member of the V&I; GMVC Hub Medical Operations team serving as a subject matter expert in communications and meetings organization support and assists and drives execution of the Medical Operations vision. This position participates in several of the following core LATAM V&I; GMVC Hub initiatives and assumes varying degrees of participation, including:
- Ensures MO support to further develop and maintain a highly functioning V&I; organization.
- Supports and advises on X-Fly insights tool for users and quarterly report for tracking regional and countries backlogs.
- Supports the Country-to-Country (C2C) program, process overview and report on number of C2C requests sent/received, economic inversion, and special cases.
- Creates and shares reports for the main stakeholders (Process and Systems).
- Collaborates and support Global V&I; Operations and Country Medical Operations (CMO) teams
Responsibilities and Primary Activities
Leadership
- Understands the mission and vision of V&I; as a science-driven and patient-committed organization.
- Stays current with key initiatives across LATAM MO and collaborates with colleagues to ensure alignment across the broader organization.
- Attends LATAM V&I; GMVC Hub Leadership Team and other meetings, as appropriate, as delegate for the Director, Medical Operations, SS.
- Exhibits subject-matter expertise and strong business acumen.
Medical Strategic Support
- Supports and executes initiatives/projects in alignment with LATAM Medical Affairs strategies, ensuring execution of V&I; mission and transformation.
- Supports the C2C program within LATAM region, ensuring full compliance with LATAM standard operating procedure (SOP)
for C2C, local SOPs, external regulations, and global policies and procedures.
- Collaborates with key stakeholders such as Strategy & Alignment Teams, Country Medical Directors, Regional Directors Medical Affairs (RDMAs), and Country Medical Operations (CMO) to support the execution of strategic initiatives, monitor progress, and track results.
- Provides support to different projects, working closely with the Director, Medical Operations, SS, as well as, Project Owners, Strategy & Alignment Team, Country Medical Directors, RDMAs, CMO and cross-functional areas to achieve project success.
- Creates and monitors quarterly insights reports with Regional V&I; Strategy & Alignment Team to ensure data accuracy in the region and countries.
- Is a subject-matter expert (SME) with regards to V&I; systems.
- Is responsible for audit-readiness process/training and supports LATAM V&I; GMVC Hub and countries during audit processes.
Required Qualifications, Skills and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in life sciences, business or health care.
- 5+ years of relevant Medical Affairs experience (e.g., Strategic Support, V&I; Operations).
- Advance English Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and MS Office 365 (Teams, SharePoint, etc.)
- Track record as a deadline-oriented self-starter with frequent outreach to teams to maintain project timelines.
- Understanding of the environment, evolution and global nature of Medical Affairs.
- Demonstrated experience in identifying process gaps and building new processes.
- Experience as a member in cross-functional initiatives in a complex matrix.
- Experience working within regulations and compliance requirements.
- A thorough understanding of ethical guidelines relevant to the pharmaceutical industry to ensure compliance with external and internal guidelines and standard operating procedures.
