Your Role
As a Transport Network Operations Specialist (N1.5), you will provide advanced technical support for transport networks, performing complex diagnostics, alarm correlation and authorised remote recovery actions. You will play a key role in bridging N1 operations with N2/N3 escalation teams, ensuring high-impact incidents are resolved efficiently and thoroughly.
In this role you will play a key role in:
- Analysing and diagnosing incidents escalated by N1 teams, validating severity, scope, topology and network impact to determine the appropriate course of action
- Correlating alarms and events across transport network layers to identify primary alarms and root causes, with a focus on WDM/DWDM and SDH technologies and Huawei and Nokia equipment
- Reviewing and interpreting network performance parameters including Tx/Rx optical power, BER, Q-factor, interface and card status, and protection mechanism health
- Coordinating resolution activities with N2/N3 engineers, Huawei and Nokia vendors, and field teams, ensuring clear communication throughout the incident lifecycle
- Supporting N1 technicians through technical guidance, checklist development and knowledge transfer, while contributing to documentation, RCA preparation and continuous improvement initiatives
Your Profile
We are looking for a technically skilled and collaborative professional who thrives in high-pressure network operations environments and brings both depth and precision to their work.
- Solid hands-on experience with WDM/DWDM, SDH and optical network technologies, with knowledge of OTN and MPLS-TP considered a strong advantage
- Demonstrated ability to interpret optical alarms, degradations and protection mechanisms,
with experience operating Huawei and Nokia equipment families and their associated management systems
- Minimum 3 years of experience in transport network support or operations, ideally within NOC/SNOC environments or Telefónica-aligned service models
- Strong structured problem-solving skills with the ability to manage high-impact incidents, communicate clearly with clients and vendors, and maintain operational focus under pressure
