We're looking for an experienced software engineer to build and maintain robust, scalable storage management solutions. You'll work close to the Linux storage stack, developing and debugging systems-level software in C or Go, while contributing to storage services that support adaptable, resilient infrastructure and cloud environments.
Required for this role
- Deep hands-on expertise in at least two areas: Linux, Storage Systems, or parallel file systems.
- Strong systems programming skills with C or Go, including experience developing or debugging Linux kernel code, modules, or I/O-related subsystems.
- Deep understanding of the Linux I/O path, memory management, scheduling, and their impact on storage performance.
- Ability to troubleshoot complex issues across storage layers, drivers, and infrastructure components.
- Experience with storage protocols, drivers, filesystems, or storage services such as OpenLustre, Ceph, BeeGFS, ZFS, NFS, or Samba.
- Understanding of SCSI standards and the Linux storage ecosystem, including SCST, LIO, and the Linux SCSI subsystem.
- Experience with performance engineering, profiling, benchmarking, and optimization of storage stacks.
- Working knowledge of Kubernetes, including the ability to independently deploy and debug services in a cluster.
- Strong problem-solving skills for diagnosing low-level software and infrastructure issues across complex storage environments.
Nice to have
- Experience with NVMe, SPDK, or RAID stacks and controllers.
- Advanced knowledge of networking fundamentals, routing, tunneling, VPNs, and mesh networking technologies such as WireGuard, Tailscale, EdgeVPN, and OpenVPN.
- Strong troubleshooting skills using tcpdump and Wireshark,
including experience investigating Kubernetes networking components.
- Deep knowledge of Kubernetes internals, including etcd, kubelet, CRI, CNI, CSI, controllers, operators, and API machinery, or experience building complete CSI driver solutions or custom Kubernetes distributions.
Your responsibilities
- Develop and maintain scalable storage management applications for storage array systems.
- Build systems-level software using C or Go, working with open source and third-party software.
- Develop, debug, and troubleshoot Linux kernel code, modules, and I/O-related subsystems.
- Investigate complex issues across storage layers, drivers, filesystems, and infrastructure components.
- Analyze the Linux I/O path, memory management, and scheduling to identify and address storage performance bottlenecks.
- Work with storage protocols, filesystems, drivers, and storage services across the Linux storage ecosystem.
- Profile, benchmark, and optimize storage stacks to improve performance, scalability, and resilience.
- Deploy and debug storage-related services in Kubernetes environments and contribute to infrastructure-level troubleshooting.
