Cornish Hernandez Gonzalez, PLLC (CHG) is looking for an experienced Paralegal to join our Personal Injury Litigation team.
The adecuado candidate has hands-on Personal Injury experience, strong attention to detail, and the ability to proactively move cases forward while managing litigation workflows and deadlines.
Key Responsibilities
1. Litigation Document Preparation
- Draft complaints using established CHG templates.
- Draft discovery documents, including:
- Requests for Production (RFPs)
- Requests for Admissions (RFAs)
- Interrogatories
- Draft summonses.
- Draft deposition notices and subpoenas.
- Draft notices of cancellation when required.
- Draft motions and other litigation documents assigned to the Paralegal.
- Make corrections to documents based on attorney feedback.
2. Litigation Workflow Execution
- Execute assigned steps within CHG litigation workflows.
- Assist with putting cases into litigation.
- Obtain and update case numbers.
- Obtain issued summonses.
- Coordinate assigned service-related activities with process servers.
- Follow up with process servers regarding service status.
- Create and maintain assigned litigation workflows/tasks.
- Complete assigned tasks according to established procedures and deadlines.
- Monitor and stay on top of all applicable court deadlines and ensure required actions are completed on time.
3. Deposition Support
- Draft deposition notices.
- Draft subpoenas when required.
- Send subpoenas and notices to process servers for service.
- Assist with deposition-related documentation.
- Prepare cancellation notices when depositions are cancelled.
- Complete other deposition-related tasks assigned through the workflow.
4. Discovery & Litigation Support
- Prepare assigned discovery documents.
- Assist with responses to litigation-related notices.
- Draft objections or other documents when directed by the applicable workflow and attorney.
- Maintain accurate case documentation and task information.
5. Proactive Case Movement
- Schedule and coordinate depositions, mediations, and trials as required.
- Proactively move assigned cases forward by identifying and completing the next required steps.
- Monitor case progression and follow up on outstanding actions to prevent unnecessary delays.
6. Case & Task Management
- Keep case information updated in the firm's systems.
- Monitor assigned tasks and deadlines.
- Upload completed documents to the appropriate task/workflow.
- Communicate completion of assigned work to the responsible attorney or team member.
- Follow up on outstanding assigned actions when required.
Required Qualifications
- At least one year of paralegal experience.
- Previous experience working in the Personal Injury field.
- Experience working with litigation-related matters.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Native-level Spanish and high proficiency in English, with the ability to communicate effectively with courts, clients, attorneys, and other parties.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Ability to follow established workflows and procedures.
- Ability to receive feedback and make corrections accurately.
- Ability to work independently in a remote environment.
- Ability to use technology and case-management/document-management systems effectively.
